Men#39;s 7-on-7 flag football team accepting registration
Registration is open for a men?s 7-on-7 flag football league that will play Saturdays, beginning Sept. 15, and running through Nov. 17 at Central Middle School. The league is for players 18-and-older, but players younger than 18 can participate with a consent form from their parents. For information, contact Byron Hazely at (810) 531-6256.
PHCSA holding fall registration
Registration for the Port Huron Competitive Sports Association men?s slow-pitch Tuesday-Thursday league is open. An entry fee of $390 per team and a roster is due to the Port Huron Recreation Dept. by Sept. 4. The $225 entry fee and roster for the Sunday coed league is due Sept. 4, also at the recreation dept. Softball chapel service
On Sunday, Sept 2, before the Men?s Modified National Championships at Pine Grove Park, the Blue Water Church Softball League will present a chapel service at Pine Grove Park featuring Mickey Weston, the Chicago White Sox chaplain. Beginning at 8 am Weston will lead softball players, coaches and spectators through a non denominational worship service. In case of rain, the event will be moved from the park to Ross Bible Church at 2865 Maywood Drive in Port Huron Township.
Industrial softball tournament set for Sept. 5-10
The District 14 Michigan Amateur Softball Association Industrial Softball Tournament is set for Sept. 5-10. The tournament is open to area business teams, and all players must be full-time workers since July 1. Entry fee is $155 and due to the Port Huron Recreation, along with a roster, by Aug. 29. Golden Eagles#39; registration Sept. 10 and 17
Registration for the Golden Eagles Senior Men?s Hockey League is from 6-8 pm Sept. 10 and 17 at Glacier Pointe. Interested players must be 50 years old by April 1, 2013, and live in St. Clair or Sanilac county. Cost is $150, and the league plays Thursday nights. Registration for the 60-Plus Golden Oldies League will be held at the same time. Those games will be played on Monday nights. For information, contact Glacier Pointe at (810) 364-9797.
